Welcome to Snapd. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Snapd, developed by Joshua Green ("we," "us," or "our"), regarding your access to and use of the Snapd mobile application and website (collectively, the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Snapd is a productivity tool that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze images (such as flyers, posters, rotas, or screenshots) and voice input to extract event-related information to help you create and manage calendar entries. The App may also provide features for saving events, creating and joining shared calendars with other users, sharing events via QR codes or links, importing events from .ics files, and exporting events to external calendar applications.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. AI Accuracy & User Responsibility
IMPORTANT: AI LIMITATIONS
The App uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to process and extract information from images and voice input. AI and speech recognition technology have inherent limitations and can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information. You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all dates, times, locations, and event details before saving them to your calendar or relying on them.
- We are not liable for any missed appointments, scheduling conflicts, financial losses, or damages of any kind resulting from AI errors, speech recognition errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- The quality and accuracy of extraction depends on the clarity, format, and content of the image or audio provided, as well as any focus filters you may apply.
- AI-generated results should be treated as suggestions that require your verification and approval.
5. User Accounts
To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Saved Events, Sharing & QR Codes
The App may allow you to save extracted events to your in-app calendar, create and join shared calendars with other users, and generate share links/QR codes for events.
- Saved data: When you save events, event details (title, date/time, location, notes) are stored in our database.
- Shared calendars: You may create shared calendars and invite other users via invite codes. Members of a shared calendar can view and (depending on their role) edit events within that calendar. You are responsible for whom you invite and the content you share within shared calendars.
- Public sharing: If you create a share link or QR code, anyone with the link may view the shared event details. You are responsible for managing access to your shared content.
- Calendar import/export: You may import events from .ics files and export your events as .ics files. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import any calendar data you upload.
- Your responsibility: Do not include sensitive, confidential, or personal information in event details you intend to share publicly or with shared calendar members you do not trust.
7. Referral Program
A. Program Overview
The App may offer a referral program allowing you to earn credits by inviting new users. By participating in the referral program, you agree to these additional terms.
B. Eligibility & Limitations
- You must have a valid Snapd account in good standing
- Referral credits are awarded only when a new user signs up using your unique referral link or code
- Maximum of 100 total referrals per user account
- Maximum of 10 referrals per 24-hour period to prevent spam
- Credits earned through referrals have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed for money
C. Prohibited Activities
You may not engage in any fraudulent, abusive, or misleading practices related to the referral program, including but not limited to:
- Creating multiple accounts to refer yourself
- Using bots, automated systems, or scripts to generate referrals
- Purchasing or trading referral codes
- Misrepresenting the App or its features to encourage signups
- Spamming referral links via unsolicited messages, emails, or social media
- Using the same device or payment method to create multiple referred accounts
- Any other attempt to manipulate or abuse the referral system
D. Our Rights
We reserve the right to:
- Investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive referral activity
- Withhold, revoke, or deduct referral credits if we suspect fraud or abuse
- Suspend or terminate accounts engaged in referral program violations
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the referral program at any time without prior notice
- Change referral reward amounts or eligibility criteria with notice
- Limit referral program availability to certain regions or user groups
E. No Guarantee
Referral credits are provided at our sole discretion. We do not guarantee that referred users will complete signup, make purchases, or that you will receive credits. We are not responsible for technical issues, user errors, or other factors that may prevent credit awards.
8. Purchases and Payments
A. Billing
Certain features of the App may require payment (subscriptions or one-time purchases). Payments are processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other payment processors. By making a purchase, you agree to the terms of your payment platform.
B. Subscriptions
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings.
C. Refunds
Refund requests are subject to the policies of the platform through which the purchase was made (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We do not directly process refunds; please contact your app store for refund requests.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal, unauthorized, or fraudulent purpose
- Upload images or voice recordings containing illegal content, malware, or harmful material
- Upload images or voice recordings containing sensitive personal information of others without their consent
- Use voice input to dictate abusive, harmful, or illegal content
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or hack any part of the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the App
- Use automated systems or bots to access the App without our permission
- Circumvent any access controls, credit limits, or usage limits
- Abuse shared calendar features to spam or harass other users
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App or its features
10. Intellectual Property
The App, including its original content, features, functionality, design, and underlying technology, is and will remain the exclusive property of Joshua Green and its licensors. The Snapd name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are our trademarks and may not be used without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of any images you upload to the App. By uploading images, you grant us a limited license to process those images for the purpose of providing the App's services.
11. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services for AI processing, speech recognition, authentication, data storage, location services, push notifications, purchase management, analytics, and app distribution. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third parties.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- AI-extracted information will be accurate, complete, or reliable
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- Any errors in the App will be corrected
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JOSHUA GREEN, SNAPD, OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, without limitation, liability for:
- Missed appointments or scheduling errors
- Inaccurate event information extracted by AI
- Loss of data or calendar entries
- Service interruptions or downtime
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Joshua Green, Snapd, and its affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to legal fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your use of and access to the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right; or (d) any content you upload or share through the App.
15. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App will immediately cease
- We may delete your account and associated data
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

16. Our Reserved Rights
We reserve the right, in our sole and absolute discretion, to:
- Modify, update, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice
- Refuse, restrict, or terminate access to the App for any user, for any reason
- Remove, modify, or refuse to display any content that we deem inappropriate, harmful, or in violation of these Terms
- Establish general practices and limits concerning use of the App, including usage limits, storage limits, and feature availability
- Make decisions regarding any matter not expressly covered by these Terms
- Interpret and enforce these Terms as we see fit
We shall not be liable to you or any third party for exercising any of these rights. In the event we make significant changes to the App or these Terms, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any legal action or proceeding relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be brought exclusively in the courts of England and Wales, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
18. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice (such as an in-app notification). Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
21. Service Limits & Fair Use
To ensure optimal performance, security, and protection for all users, certain features are subject to reasonable limits:
- Credit System: AI-powered features (image analysis, voice input) consume credits. New users receive a starting balance of free credits. Image analysis uses a base amount of credits, with additional credits consumed when using focus filters. Voice input uses fewer credits per analysis. Credits can be purchased through in-app purchases.
- QR Code Events: Each QR code may contain up to 100 calendar events. This limit accommodates virtually all legitimate use cases including conference schedules, academic semesters, recurring event series, and business calendars.
- Bulk Import Protection: When scanning QR codes containing 10 or more events, users will be shown a confirmation dialog before events are added to their calendar. This protects users from accidentally importing large numbers of events.
- AI Processing: Image and voice analysis requests are subject to rate limiting to ensure fair access for all users and prevent abuse.
- Shared Calendars: Shared calendar features may have limits on the number of members or events to ensure service quality.
- Home Screen Widgets: Android home screen widgets display a limited number of upcoming events and are subject to device-specific update intervals.
- Referral Program: Users may refer up to 100 total users and are limited to 10 referrals per 24-hour period to prevent abuse.
These limits are designed to protect users while providing generous capacity for normal use. We reserve the right to adjust these limits at any time to maintain service quality and security.
